Paul Austin is the Sachems FC Coaching Director.
Paul coaches the Winchester High Schools boys
varsity soccer team, which has made the state
tournament in all 6 years of his reign. Paul was
previously the Reading Memorial High School
girls varsity coach, bringing them to the state
tournament 3 times.
Paul holds a USSF National “B” license and an
NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Paul played for
Winchester High School and a US Air Force Team
that played in Italy, Spain and England. Paul
continues to play soccer competitively in a
Division 1 men’s league and for the Sachems FC
coaches futsal team. |

Rob Barsamian,

Rob
Barsamian joins Sachems FC for the 2007-08 year
as coach of the under-14 boys team. He currently
serves as the Travel Director for Newton Youth
Soccer. An accomplished soccer player, Rob
played professionally in
Sweden and
continues to play Division I Men’s NEOTHSL. |

Jay Eidson,

Jay Eidson enters his second season as an assistant with the under-11
boys team. He also serves as staff coach with Lexington United Soccer Club, Pink
Ladies Futsal Club, the Mass Youth District 4 Select girls and Beaver
Country Day School. He is also the LUSC boys U7 director and a senior
staff member of Massachusetts Futsal.
Jay holds a USSF E coaching license and grade eight USSF soccer and
futsal referee badges and continues to play competitively with the
Lexington Eagles over-40 team.
A Lexington resident and special education teacher at the town's Diamond
Middle School, Jay has a BA from Hartwick College and a
M.Ed. from Lesley University. In addition to soccer and futsal, Jay
loves trains, playing the drums and spending time with his son Carter.

Chris French
enters his third year with Sachems FC. A
Winchester native, Chris played for
Winchester Soccer Club throughout elementary
school, middle school, and high school, then
started 2 years for Winchester High School
and was a key member of the team that made a
deep run in the state tournament before
losing in the North Sectional Finals. During
his senior year, he was the seconnd leading
scorer in the league and both a Middlesex
League All-Star and Eastern Mass All-Star.
He then started at striker and outside
midfield for four years at Colby College,
playing in the top conference in the nation
for Division 3. He received his bachelor's
degree in American Studies in 2005.
In addition to his Sachems FC duties,
Chris coaches the junior varsity boys soccer
team at Winchester High School and the
District 4 Select under-18 girls team. He is
still an active player, playing in numerous
competitive and semi-professional leagues
throughout New England.

Roy Gomes,

Roy Gomes
joins Sachems FC as coach of the under-13 boys
team. He is originally from Madeira Island,
Portugal and has played club and pro soccer for
a variety of teams, including Athelitic FC,
Failence FC, and the Lowell Reds. He brings a
knowledge, love, and passion for the ‘beautiful
game’ with his Portuguese and Brazilian
experience along with his years of coaching.
Roy also continues to
play competitively in a Division 1 men’s league. |

Mike Higgins,

Mike Higgins is
the Woburn High School girls varsity soccer
coach and will work with the Sachems FC under-12
girls team. He brings a wealth of experience and
insight to the program. Mike Higgins is also the
Director of Innitou Soccer Club and an ODP staff
coach. Mike has also coached soccer at the
college level. Mike carries Advanced National
Licenses. |

Chadd Mars,

Chadd Mars enters his third year with
Sachems FC and moves to the under-12 boys
team after two successful years on the girls
side. In addition to his duties as U13 girls
coach with the club, Chadd is also a Mass
Youth Soccer Instructional Staff coach and a
Massachusetts ODP coach. He also
coaches the freshman girls soccer team at
Winchester High School and the District 4
Select under-13 girls.
Chadd
holds a USSF National "D" License and an
NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma.
Born and
raised in the state of Hawaii, he played for
the perennial high school state champion
I'olani Red Raiders. He also played for his
club in Switzerland called Versoix FC for 4
years while at boarding school. After
attending Boston University, he now resides
in Cambridge.
Chadd is still
currently playing for several highly
competitive teams, including the
Massachusetts State Select Team -- which
came in second place in the national
championship in January 2006 -- Reisina
Soccer and Cambridge Arsenal, both in
division 1 leagues in the Boston area.

Jason Miller,

Jason enters his second
year training the under-11 boys team. He is the
Director of Futsal for Massachusetts Futsal,
head coach of Pink Ladies Futsal Club, staff coach for Concord-Carlisle Youth Soccer
and in his sixth year as a head coach in the
District 4 Select girls program.
A native of Lexington and
former Boston Breakers Youth Development Staff Coach, Jason holds a USSF
National "C" coaching license and a USSF/NSCAA Level One Goalkeeping
license. He has also been involved with the Winchester, Lexington and Nashoba
girls high
school programs and served four years as Director of Player and Coach
Development for Lexington Youth Soccer. Jason also owns USSF soccer and
futsal referee badges and has officiated at futsal regionals and the
Massachusetts State Cup round-robin and semifinals.
Jason is a former
fifth-grade, sixth-grade, and special education teacher and has a B.A.
in Journalism from Ithaca College and a M.Ed. from Lesley University. In
addition to his soccer and futsal attentions, Jason works as a sports
counselor at Camp Sewataro in Sudbury, coaches basketball at Gann
Academy in Waltham and spends time with his cairn terrier, Wembley. |

Peter Miller,

Peter Mller is
the founder of
the Burlington High School soccer program, a Lexington Youth Soccer
coach for more than 12 years, and a former US amateur player and
collegiate Athlete of the Decade at American International College.
Peter brings invaluable experience and talent to Sachems FC .
Peter
is a former middle school health teacher and has a BA in Psychology from
AIC and a Masters in Health and Physical Education from Springfield
College. Respected by peers and players as an talented technical trainer
and excellent match tactician, Peter loves working with the young
Sachems players, especially small-group technical training.

Chris Scanlon,

Chris has been
the girls varsity soccer coach at Winchester
High School for 28 years, during which time
his teams have won 26 Middlesex League
titles and eight Massachusetts Division 1
State Championships. His success on the
field is largely unmatched by any coach in
the region.
He holds a
USSF "A" license and an NSCAA Advanced
National Diploma. Along with his duties for
Sachems FC and the Winchester HS Girls
Varsity team, Chris also serves as Director
of Coaching and Player Development for
Winchester Soccer Club and teaches fifth
grade at the Bowman Elementary School in
Lexington.

Arthur Staffiere,

Arthur Staffiere
recently guided the Sachems FC under-12 girls
team to a top spot in next year's Massachusetts
Premiere League. He is the Winchester High
School girls junior varsity soccer team head
coach and is the girls commissioner for the
Winchester Soccer Club.
Arthur holds a
USSF National “D” License, an NSCAA National
Diploma and a KNVB Dutch National Coaching
Certificate. He is also an EMSOA high school
soccer referee. |

David Suvak, Gu11 & Gu16 head

David Suvak
recently coached the under-15 girls team to a
spot in Division 1 for 2007-08, a first in the
brief history of Sachems FC. Dave will resume
command of that team while adding the under-11
girls team as well. For the past several seasons
he has been part of the Winchester High School
girls soccer program -- as junior varsity coach
and as varsity assistant coach.
He holds a USSF
National “C” License and an NSCAA National
Diploma and serves as assistant coach of the
under-14 girls ODP team. A former member of the
Boston College Eagles, Dave has played semi-pro
soccer in the LASA league and continues to play
in a Division 1 men's league and on the Sachems
FC coaches futsal team.
Inducted into the
Winchester Sports Foundation Hall of Fame in
2006, Dave grew up in Winchester, where he
currently resides with his wife and children. |
